We hope that they have settled well and are enjoying the new experience. Through their efforts and enthusiasm they have already brought much to the life of the school for which we thank them. To celebrate their first successful term and to officially welcome all new families to the family of Baines, I would like to invite all Year 7 pupils and their families to our Year 7 Christmas Founder’s Service to be held in St. Chad’s Church on Monday 8th December 2008 at 7.00 pm. This will be led by Year 7 pupils, who will contribute to the service in a variety of ways. We expect it to be a most enjoyable service and a celebration of their achievements at this important stage of their school life. We hope that all Year 7 pupils and their families are able to attend this evening, for which tickets are not required. Please put the date in your diary! Thu, 06 Nov 2008 14:46:12 +0100 http://www.baines.lancs.sch.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=137&Itemid=38 Race for Life 2008 was our 4th year of entry and yet again we had the largest national team entry with 294 Baines Girls putting on the pink to support Cancer Research. Congratulations go to Rachael Scott - now 8AMr, who was the first Baines Girl over the line and 4th overall. Money is still coming in from the event but we hope to have reached our target of a total figure of £25,000 being raised since we started in 2004. In addition this year we have a DVD to capture the event which has also been sold to raise extra money.
